  40.      mode improved elapsed time substantially only in the case of full screen
  41.      (non-tiled) patterns on very fast clients to remote monochrome servers, 
  42.      and then only by ~15 seconds. If "-dynam" is omitted, plotting now 
  43.      defaults to "-dynam 8192".
